Duty Manager - Cambridge : Salary 18K- 20K
Company
Our client is looking for a Duty Manger, to assist the General Manager in the running of a residential executive training and conference centre.
Role
As Duty Manager, to assist the General Manager in the day to day running of the Centre, including over night pager cover, in accordance with the agreed standards and all current legislation. To take over the management of the Centre when on duty, as well as assisting in the management of other departments.
Main responsibilities:
- To complete all Duty Management shift procedures when on duty.
- To maintain and comply with all company and legal requirements including environmental, employment, health, safety, fire and hygiene legislation.
- To ensure that all stock delivered to the centre is signed in and out to the appropriate departments as required, using the correct procedures.
- To take overall responsibility for the operation of the Centre during Duty Management shifts, motivating all operational staff to achieve best practice and the required standards of service.
- To ensure effective communication with all clients throughout your shift, ensuring that you conduct the Duty Managers arrival procedure upon client-s arrival into the centre and an exit interview upon their departure.
- Responsible for maintaining effective and constructive communication with all departments in the Centre.
- To communicate effectively with all external organisations to promote the Centre as a professional organisation.
- To manage the operation under your control to achieve agreed customer satisfaction targets in all areas in line with company duty management procedures and operational standards as a result of client feedback. To acknowledge and respond to all customer concerns in an effective, timely manner.
- To assist the General Manager and Operations Manager in achieving and maintaining appropriate levels of health and safety throughout the Centre, including overall venue presentation.
- To report to the Operations Manager to discuss departmental performance and ensure communication is effective.
- To attend meetings/training as and when required.
- To carry out any reasonable request made by a member of Management in a timely and cost effective manner.
Candidate skills

- Strong communication and attention to detail skills are essential
- With experience in a similar role, ideally with a sound knowledge of Food and Beverage or Front of House operations, highly desirable.
