This well renowned manufacturing company is looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to assist the already successful team in coping with an ever increasing business demand.

The role
1) Assume a lead role within development projects with exposure to all aspects of development from conceptualisation through to manufacture
2) Involved in organising the mechanical engineering design effort to meet the requirements of the project as well as providing creative solutions to problems
3) Liase with electrical/electronic engineers.
4) To apply your technical expertise to develop relationships with current and future customers (internal and external)
5) Manage tasks within projects requiring delivery within tight timescales, managing both internal and external resources
Candidate skills / qualifications
1) A degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
2) Experience in detailed design of components, products in CAD and Tolerance analysis of designs
3) A background in the production of detailed drawings and manufacturing specifications
4) An excellent knowledge of manufacture and assembly processes from one off designs to high volume manufacture is required
5) A good understanding of manufacturing techniques, assembly processes and material selection is key
6) Significant experience of 3D CAD, preferably Pro Engineer
7) Hands-on experience in leading mechanism design, stress analysis, mould flow analysis and other CAD analysis tools is desirable
