Software Developer (SQL/DBMS-s): Communication & Data provider : Chigwell, Greater London : salary to £35k :Graduates with 2-5 years experience ideal!
My clients are a communication and data provider, supplying to the Education, Public and Business sectors. They are currently recruiting for an internal developer role ideally suited to a graduate with a -few- years working in industry. Professional experience developing software and complex SQL queries, a good understanding of DBMSs and a good general understanding of IT systems are key requirements for this position. Working closely with all members of the technical team, this is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding organisation and to become involved with their future. Any additional training will be provided for the right candidate.
QUALIFICATIONS
A good degree in computing science, software engineering or other computer based specialism. Between 2 and 5 years working in a technical position.
JOB PURPOSE:
--Assist with the development of new software solutions and services
--Provide a range of development and support services mainly to UK Education Authorities and individual schools.
--Work with the technical team in the creation of bespoke data extract services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
--Work with the customer to understand and interpret data delivery requirements
--Assist in creating specifications and the subsequent implementation and delivery of new products and services
--Assist with the provision of client support services
KEY REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Experience)
Essential skills
--Good general understating of IT Systems
--Professional development experience (c# .net preferable)
--A good general understanding of DBMSs and SQL
--Understanding of software development methodologies
--Technical knowledge of:
- Developing complex SQL queries
- Microsoft SQL 2005 and above
- Encryption technologies and Internet Securities
Advantageous
--Working knowledge of:
- Microsoft.Net Product set
- Web Creation tools
- Web hosting technologies
- Communication Technologies
