Overview
An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their team based in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, this is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with experience in commercial building and property services projects to play a key role within the pre-construction team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing tender documentation, and supporting the delivery of competitive and commercially viable project bids.
Key Responsibilities

Attend site visits where required to support the estimating process.

Review and analyse tender documents, drawings, specifications, contracts and bills of quantities.
*
Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions in line with project requirements and deadlines.
*
Calculate project costs including materials, labour, plant, equipment hire, transport and subcontractor packages.
*
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
*
Identify commercial risks and opportunities during the tender stage.
*
Work closely with the commercial and project delivery teams to ensure accurate project pricing.
*
Ensure all estimates are completed accurately and within required timescales.
Requirements
*
Minimum 3 years' experience in an estimating role within the construction or property services sector.
*
Experience working on commercial building or refurbishment projects.
*
Strong understanding of construction methods and cost planning.
*
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
*
Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills.
*
Experience negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
*
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
*
HND or higher in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
*
Experience using estimating software such as Causeway.
*
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
*
Full UK Driving Licence.
